TigerAnne builds a cottage.

I had the idea for this lot a long time ago, but it's only recently that I've gotten around to making it. The house itself was a very quick build, as it's fairly small and none too complicated. However, the garden was another story. I really knocked myself loose on this one.

This is the actual house, before the garden was finished. It's another Spanish-inspired country cottage, but I think it can be turned into other styles by restructuring the roof a little, and maybe use other windows.

Most of these flowers are conversions from Sims 4. I love them way too much. This time I tried to avoid giving the garden an overly tropical look, because I think I want to re-use this lot in another hood.

The plan was to make a super-picturesque house that looked like it came out of something like a Thomas Kincaide painting. I think I mostly succeeded.

The house is "clean" and has never been inhabited, so I could try to upload it if anyone should want it. Just so you know, however, this is a 3x4 lot. It requires a bit of space, and the back yard is completely empty. I made the house 99% for my own purposes.

The lot also won't come with the fruit trees. They're functional work-stations, with several slaved objects that according to the creators, Sun&Moon, can become corrupted. This is the version of the house I'm intending to play, in the Uglacy neighbourhood, and I put the trees in for that purpose.

This house will belong to some Sims I've missed for a long time. :) They had to come to Spain. Next project up, is a house for a terrible permanent-tourist family. That should be fun, ha ha ha!

All those flowers! How pretty. I wouldn't mind having a copy! Weren't you going to make me a copy of the Macs' house, too?

[identity profile] tigerannesims2.livejournal.com 2017-10-06 08:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I was. I've never packed up a house before, so I don't know if you need an extra program to include CC in the upload. The Mac house is empty, though.

Hers b tutorial:

The short version: http://modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Packaging_a_Lot

The version with moar words and pictures: http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=124539

There are probably more recent ones, but those are the ones I learned on. Packaging lots for other people can be a pain in the posterior, TBH. The House on Haunted Hill was absolutely impossible. DX

(Edited because LJ botched the links. How about that.)

(Edit again: LJ is having tons of probs, apparently. Just copy and paste!)

Ok, seems like the Maxis packer does all the work. How... big a file are you willing to download? *gulp*

Oh, it doesn't matter. I don't think your lot should be horrendously huge, anyway. What did I say the House on Haunted Hill was? Around 200 mb, I think? Then I had a hard time cleaning out all the unneeded stuff that got packaged with it, then there was tons of stuff that didn't get packaged. But that's the only one I had a ton of trouble with. The Dimwits' house packaged just fine. I had to clean some stuff out of it, but it was doable.

Ok. Herbal Cottage, as it's named, clocked in at 87 mB. And that is all in the front yard. I hope that's not too horrendous? Oh, BTW, it doesn't have a place to put a driveway. Still want it?

Nah, that's fine. And driveways aren't always necessary. X)

Alright, then. :) The cottage be here!
