WARNING: Animals POOP.

Welcome back to Bellrock Park, as I've named my test zoo. It's named in honour of the fictional North Carolina town Raelynn lives in. They do have a smallish zoo there, but nothing with elephants and giraffes. This version, on the other hand, is about to get those iconic giants!
Meanwhile, just look at Asha being cute!

A couple of the older packmates, Yomi (top) and Winona, passed away.

Getting in a morning swim is good exercise. (Or exorcise, of calories!)

Juliette, the Momma Meerkat, was getting very old. I snapped this picture to put on her memorial, in case the event notification system didn't catch her in time. You can replace the texture on the plaques with images, and I'm hoping to eventually have a photo wall going with pics of all the previous inhabitants.

Dawud? Buddy? Are you okay?

I guess he must have been very hungry.

Juliette had a final litter of three, at the end of her life.

"I like looking at the weird creatures that live behind the water." :D

Delma was so cute and tiny! <3

Look at her! Look at that happy little smile. Because she's totally smiling.

Pygmy hippos are also smiling, but they look mischievous like they're planning a prank. Don't trust the smol hippos becuz they very sly.

Especially when they look at you like this.

The penguins were fruitfully multiplying. Look at such little fuzzball of feathers.

The meerkats have this tunnelling behaviour that leaves little holes all over the place. It's fun to watch, because they pop up somewhere completely unexpected compared to where they went in.

I got a pretty nice tribute picture of Juliette, before she passed away.

And then she went and died right in front of her youngest litter. x(

This is a baby bongo. Look at those shiny eyes. The graphics in this game....! <3 The bongo family was living in a small, single-species habitat, but I had other plans for them. They were moving to a second large, mixed habitat I inspirationally(?) dubbed "Savannah 2."

I neglected to write down who this is, but memory tells me it's Benni and her daughter Emilie.

The hyenas sleep a lot, which is proof that they're very smart.

I'm in the process of recreating this whole park from an early save, and make it look actually nice this time. The new wild dog habitat has a really big swimming pond. You'll see it eventually. This is the good old test-run habitat.

A notification said that Alika was about to have a babby. That midnight stoll was very profit. :D

Her baby didn't inherit her rare colouring, but I didn't exactly expect him to. His name was Levi. I've since released him, because male hippos don't get along.

I went and created a small island in the pygmy hippos habitat. Because I assumed that they were herd animals like the larger hippos, I made their habitat the same size as theirs. Then the zoopedia (an in-game information wiki) told me that they only live in pairs. The habitat is stupidly oversized for them now. I hope when I get more expansion packs that there will be a compatible species I can put in with them, maybe something like an otter.

I like the colours in this picture, for some reason. Now that I know how to create custom paintings for my Sims, I may turn a few of these screenshots into "photos" that one of my adventurers can have on the wall.

This guy is Hamadi. He was a nyala, a type of antelope who really don't like guests seeing them! The nyalas, and the okapis they shared their old habitat with, got moved to the new Savanna 2 habitat soon after. I never liked their old enclosure much.

This is Adeline, and if my test zoo doesn't get borked she'll be important in the future. I had traded Jayvyn, the previous Alpha, out of the zoo when Charlie (current boss) came of age, because Charlie was much improved in terms of genetic material. Then after I got rid of Jay, I noticed that Charlie's mother was pregnant. I got super bummed, because I thought she had inbred. Fortunately, it's turned out that Jay is indeed Adeline's father, (and Charlie her full-brother) and she's very promising.

Very photogenic! :) I feel like half of the screenshots I take in this game look like promo art. The light is just so pretty!

Notifications said that this little cutie was about to mature. I paused the game just as she was in this kind of artsy classic sculpture pose. x)

The mudbath is popular, and that's the reason everyone's always dirty!

The ostriches were chilling in the shade. I think I'll put in coolers in some areas, and just set them to a very reasonable temperature like 15 Celsius, for animals who are feeling hot under the bonnet.

The sable antelopes have a sorta strange head-shape, don't they? The real life animal looks exactly like this too, with the eyes in that odd position.

This is Anyia. She was Ades' twin sister.

I just love the wild dogs, okay? x)

Hoo boy. We got our first elephant - a little one - and she arrived with an infection.

All the animals are collapsable, for easier transportation.

The yeenas had another cub. His name's Yonas, named so by the game. I figured it was a more than okay name, so he keeps it. He'll be their last cub, because Brenda's reached the age of infertility.

I forgot to turn on the camera light, but you'll probably be able to see a dark shape lying on the ground. My monitor is very bright, and my pictures tend to come out kind of dark as a side-effect of that. Anyway, that's Ades - Boss Warthog. He expired in style too, at a bustling midnight party.

Luckily there was a childrens' table, so the little ones weren't scared! (Not that they even register what's happening. Mourning behaviour isn't coded in, and I'm kind of happy about that.)

Ey, zebra! Don't poop on my babby Delma!

*snoof*

I'm glad I don't have to pick my breakfast from a basket dangling above my head, but apparently a lot of animals are into that.

And look! Babbe! I don't remember what her name is, but it's a girl.

Our little elephant, Lulamay Lee, got a much bigger companion. His name's Heffalump, because yes.

Aww, it was love at first sight! She'll have to share him, though. We're aiming for a small family herd of elephants here! They can live in pretty big packs according to zoopedia, so I think five or six would be a nice group.

Then the bongos, okapis and nyalas moved in. Look how happy this little guy is to have so much space to run around all crazy like!

I actually liked the original bongo habitat, it just felt a bit small. Howevz, there was a smaller animal that could take it over pretty much as it was - the North Sulawesi Babirusa. Now, what is that, exactly?

It's a.... this! :D They're a type of pig who live in Asian rainforests.

The penguins just kept popping the babies out!

Oh, this is great. You know the game developers are dedicated when they animate realistic species-specific pooping. O_o
No, EA. We don't want diarrea animations in Sims 5. That sky dome, and the lighting system, though? If you could do that?

Here. Brain bleach.

Oh no, here comes the Fella Muupi. The keepers forgot to clean the exhibits again, didn't they? Or did someone look at the Nyalas?? ONOZ!
Anywayz, time to sign off. I've got a semi-early start tomorrow, and there's a pod-cast I want to listen to before bed. TTYSoon!
