This was a relatively quick and easy build. I used a real floorplan, but I managed to fit in more rooms on the upper floor than in the original. There are seven bedrooms in all, including a ground-floor nursery, five full bathrooms, one tiny extra bathroom, a TV-den and a large, open kitchen/dining/livingroom.

I decided to go sort of Maxis-match this time, so I went for a strong, cheerful yellow siding.

Here's the front door. The floorplan had it set into a nook, so I just copyed that. There's a flower bed for an additional splash of colour.

A double garage, which can fit both their traditional troll-face car, and a big family van.

The back of the house, with the patio. I added some flowers to make it look more inviting. There is no furniture or interior decoration yet.

What you can't really see in these pictures, because I took the pictures from angles that hide it, is that the house's got a giant roof of DOOOM. It's not particularly pretty on the whole, and I'm not bursting with pride, but it will do for now.

Shiny! You have skilz, you can translate real floorplans into simhouses!

It's nice to play in a different style of house, if you're already moving.
I'll take your word on the roof being not so nice, but from what we can see it looks great.

The one thing that I don't understand is that you mentioned five full bathrooms. Now why would you waste time and space adding that when you know we'll all be crowding that tiny extra bathroom?
Love,
your sims 8D

That bathroom is so small, only two or three of you will be able to cram in there, quite physically. And I have the control-buttons. Love, TigerAnne. :)

Thanks. :D It was a very easy floorplan to follow. I had to move the staircase a little, and pretend the walk-ins and storage rooms weren't there, but all in all it was just nice, rectangular rooms next to each other. The roof is very wide, seen from the sides. It almost looks like a barn. :( However, I lowered the angle as much as I could. I don't think it will feature much in pictures, so they'll have to live with it.

Oooooh, I like! It inspired me to go looking for an unpotted version of that little Maxis pine tree you put near the front door. I love the sunny yellow siding. I think I can see what you mean about the roof, but it looks like the house has enough angles to add variety. Besides, we don't read legacies for roofs, anyway. XD

I know what you mean, though. Coming up with a nice roof is sooooo hard. I just built another room onto the Duckling house, and I had to redo the roof. I had to deploy all sorts of methods of trickery, and I still couldn't get it quite like I had it before. Roofing in later versions of the Sims franchise is probably better.

OT, but you'll have to excuse me if I barely make sense or make a bunch of typos or disappear. There are a few comments of yours I want to respond to, but I'm running on sleep deficit right now. My dumb insomniac uncle has decided it's fun to hum and whistle intermittently overnight. x\

Oh dear. I hope that uncle soon finds a reason to move out. :( My parents were both nightowls, and though I do miss them a lot, I don't miss their loud discussions *cough*arguements*cough* about completely unimportant things* in front of a very LOUD TV when I was trying to sleep. (Or maybe I do miss it?) Mom worked only part-time, and Dad was already retired, so they had plenty of opportunities to sit up all night and have pointless discussions that NEVER LEAD ANYWHERE. And Dad didn't hear very well, so he needed the TV on loudly. x( But I still miss them, and wish they were around to make me sleep with a pillow over my ear.

I wish I could remember where the trees come from, but I can't. :( My best guess is that they're part of the Mansion Set by Phoenix Faerie(?) on MTS.

Roofs work exactly the same way in TS3, as far as I remember. The method for lowering the angle was a bit different, but neither easier or harder. I sooo want to reinstall it again, but I never really gather the courage, LOL! It takes several hours to install, and I'm worried about being side-tracked too much.

*Really. They could argue for half an hour about who had worn a yellow dress to someone's wedding in the 60s, and get upset about it! O_O Mom and Dad, I love you a lot, but that wasn't necessary.
