So, this has been today's ambitious building project, an ancient sea water pool, dating back to the 1930s. It's still a work in progress, because the utility building is barely furnised, and I need a few more statement pieces to give this place the feeling of being *~*Deco*~*. I also feel the I failed at creating the impression that this place is very old, if well maintained.

I thought it would be interesting to have an "island" in the middle of the pool. Eh, not sure I'm 100% happy with it, because it makes me think more of 1980s tourist resorts on Gran Canaria, which I've actually only seen in pictures.

The pool gets its water from the ocean, so visitors can swim in healthy salt water without the risk of undertows, sharks and stinging jellies. I wish I could have gotten the pool a lot closer to the actual sea, though. It's probably possible, with cheats and stuff.

I built this lot specially for my Spanish hood, but I kind of want to improve on the design and use it in other hoods.
The old beach lot is right next door.

I think the café/changing room/bathroom building came out sort of cool. My Google-Fu failed at letting me learn how to do those quarter-height walls people use to make flat "designer" roofs and arches, etc. I didn't want the roof to be as flat as this.
Now I need lots of vintage-style CC, to make the Café that Time Forgot.

I actually bothered to make a proper staircase, this time. On the other two beach lots I've made (which are pretty much the same lot), Sims have a very hard time figuring out how to hillside. If they're even going to use the staircase, is another matter entirely.

The stairs is the only way down to the pool, however. It's completely enclosed.

I had to get creative with the use of plants, to cover the unsightly trenches behind the pool wall and along the stairs. It looks like the trees have started to conquer the lot, because it's been a while since the last trim they had. I didn't want to go for a derelict look, but I like the idea that this is a place that's fallen a bit out of popularity, and is mainly visited by people who want to swim in peace. :)
If you know where I can find curved walls and windows for Sims 2, then please do tell me!
